Thank you for your interest in our holiday cottages which are graded
English Tourism Council ‘3 Stars’ (formerly English Tourist Board ‘3 Keys commended’) and are situated in the centre of Dent, a very picturesque village set in one of the quieter Dales within the   Yorkshire Dales National Park

The Dales Way passes close by and the famous Settle—Carlisle railway is served by Dent station, the highest in England and some 4 miles from the village.  The whole area, which is mainly given over to sheep farming, is excellent for fell walking and some adventurous souls go pot-holing!  The
Lake District is within easy driving distance as are all the other lovely Dales and National Park areas.

Both cottages have been carefully modernised and tastefully furnished to a high standard.  Electricity for cooking, hot water and heating (storage radiators) is included in the holiday charge.  Bed linen is also included but towels are only available at an extra charge.

A cot can be supplied if booked in advance, but bedding is not provided.  Either cottage will sleep up to 4 adults.

Fountain Cottage:

A mid 18th century cottage that has all the facilities for a cosy and comfortable visit.

Accommodation consists of a fully fitted kitchen/dining room on the ground floor, sitting room with additional convector heater, colour TV, video and radio/cassette/CD player (we do not provide cassettes or discs), a shower room and separate WC on the first floor and a top floor   comprising two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and the other with two single beds (one 2’6”).

Parking is on-street or there are spaces near the shop or The Sun Inn.

All parking is only a very short distance away.

Middleton’s Cottage:

A late 17th century cottage skilfully brought to a high standard in recent years which consists of a fully fitted kitchen/dining room, cosy sitting room with additional convector heater, colour TV, video, radio/cassette/CD player (we do not provide cassettes or discs), on the first floor there are two comfortable bedrooms each with twin beds, and a bathroom with shower and WC.

There is a small ungated garden and a parking space for one car

Railway stations are at Dent or Oxenholme (Kendal) and a taxi should be booked in advance (Woof’s of Sedbergh—tel 015396 20414).  Bus services from Kendal operate as far as Sedbergh, some days to Dent.  Contact the Traveline on 0870 608 2 608.

There is a Post Office as well as a general store in the village which provide for all needs and if you don’t fancy cooking, then The Sun Inn, the George and Dragon, or further up the Dale, the Sportsman’s Inn or Craft Centre all provide excellent fare.  Meadowside and Stone Close in the village offer good quality meals and snacks during the day, and evening meals in summer, but all have hours that may be restricted during winter months.

Our cottages do not accept smokers.  We regret that dogs and other animals are not accepted.
